Sweet Helen was the host of our Gem Session today – thank you sweetie. As usual it was a natter and a moan and a bit of slapping (when someone puts themselves down) and a bit of encouraging too.We entered into a giveaway – which was good, but even better – I was given a lovely brooch on the spot from Helen! We made some funky, funky for the craftstock event we will be at on Thursay evening, but we are all finding it hard to get into the groove – new year and all. I think we need to go out dancing and get all the stress out .
We are
a small group of fanactical crafters who love getting together for a cuppa and chatting about anything and everything.Every Tuesday we block out our diaries and quickly drop our kids at school and then hurry along to steaming hot cups of tea and start to work on our ‘little gems session’…..ah…simply bliss!

Hey ladies, pleeeease keep blogging. I come here all the time looking for updates. I would love to visit your stitch group if I may. I know I said I would last year but I got my times wrong, thinking it was a night time thing but y’all meet during the day. Not to worry, I’m sure I can spend a day out on a field trip with everybody. Is there something I could bring, do or show. I am a learner too, but have done some botanical dyeing recently and felting last year. I also weave flax amongst other things. Can’t sew but love to handstitch using good old running stitch to draw with. I’m happy if you want a demo or something. I’m into sharing skills. For years I was in a desert, so I am always happy to share and show and tell what little knowledge I have. Let’s tee something up. Also remembering that Margaret Tolland has started a stitch group at Pataka, so our paths are bound to cross this year. I missed the first meeting this month, too much on with kids starting new schools and re-enrolling myself. I love what you guys make and do, all that lovely mixed media, vintage cloth, papers, stitch and goodies galore. Cleo and I had a fab time alongside you ladies at Pataka’s craft fair. I enjoyed you as our neighbours, all that crafty eye candy, yummo. My Meemo sits in my room as part of an installation, I show it in one of my earlier blogs re: my bedroom. Thanks ShellsBells for stopping by and commenting too. And great work you guys.
